For more than 50 years farmers across North America have been spraying atrazine, a pesticide, on crops, mainly corn, applying millions of pounds a year. That widespread use of the weed killer has also led to runoff. Atrazine can end up in lakes, streams and in drinking water.
It is possible that atrazine may interfere with the development of amphibians' endocrine systems
The highest levels of atrazine in tap water are detected in May and June. The recommended treatment method for removal of atrazine from drinking water is a Reverse Osmosis System.
RO water systems excel at removing water impurities, but few are aware that they also remove the beneficial minerals. In fact, the reverse osmosis process removes 92-99% of beneficial calcium and magnesium. We recommend adding trace minerals.
While you might be more familiar with minerals like iron, zinc, fluoride, and iodine, other trace minerals include copper, selenium, molybdenum, chromium, and manganese. All trace minerals are necessary for the body. In our opinion, the highest quality of trace minerals is by a company called, Trace Minerals Research.
