5% Day Program

We love giving back to our community, because it is our community that supports us. That’s why one Sunday every month, Ellwood Thompson’s donates 5% of that day’s sales to local nonprofits and organizations.

On 5% days, a selected non-profit or organization sends volunteers to join our staff in bagging groceries, performing carry-outs, and speaking to customers about their organizations. As friends and neighbors, we encourage you to come in on 5% days to support local non-profits and organizations by simply shopping as you usually do. By shopping at Ellwood’s on a 5% day, you’re getting things off of your list and helping organizations raise funds for their cause at the same time.

Fonticello Food Forest is a community garden project in Cater-Jones Park located in Southside, Richmond. They are dedicated to holding beautiful, abundant, natural space in the neighborhood and expanding food access.

Every Wednesday, they hold a free farm stand for anyone and everyone in need to enjoy.
